#Travelin4Coffee Day 4 Driving and a Bunn Cocktail Party! #CoffeeCon

Day 4 of driving to CoffeeCon started in Elmwood, Nebraska (H on the map) with the need of getting to I before 3pm.  I had to get there in time to shower and then join Amanda at the Bunn hosted cocktail party!

I thought that the day was going to be perfect, it was sunny and a good driving temp when I woke up bright and early and hit the road.  Again, I had no idea what I was driving into later in the day.

As you can see in the photo above, which I did not notice until I was looking over my photos later, shows exactly what the weather would hold for me.  I was just trying to catch a pic of the Iowa State sign but managed to catch the clouds as well.  It also ended up being the only photo of Iowa I captured on Day 4.
The sky opened up and drenched me in an Ice and Snow storm that was even bigger than what I drove through two days before!  Never in my life would I have imagined driving through this type of weather in May across the Midwest   I was prepared for thunder storms, tornado type weather etc. but not a winter blizzard.

Thank goodness for hands-free phones and a lot of people on the other end giving me weather updates and checking on me as I drove!  Eventually as I neared the Illinois state line the weather just stopped!  A little rain/drizzle but other than that, nothing to speak of!

Super neat Giant in Wilmington, IL
I finally made it to Braidwood, IL!  It was great to be done driving for a bit, and to see Amanda and her kiddos!  I got to meet her Mom – Mary and Donnie!  We got ready for the Bunn meet & greet and headed up to Naperville, IL.
The BUNN event was held at Maggiano’s, and to be honest, I as exhausted when we arrived.  Amanda and I were the first blogger/speaker/VIP’s to arrive but the BUNN reps were very welcoming.  As people started arriving it quickly became a place where I started to feel – out of place.  I can be very shy at first and the people I was meeting were not just bloggers but true coffee experts.  I was feeling like they were trying to “one-up” each other with their coffee knowledge.  I was wondering why on earth I was there or even invited.  I had no clue how to even keep up with their conversations!   My opinion would change greatly the next day, but Friday night I was feeling very out of place.
The food was great, and I did have some wonderful conversations.  Most people were very interested in asking Amanda and myself about Military life etc. That really helped keep the conversations flowing.
Overall, I am glad we went. I would love to see the photos from that night, I have not seen the professional ones posted yet.

*Disclosure* I was invited by CoffeeCon to attend as a VIP Blogger, that is how I was at the BUNN Cocktail Party, and the Kitchenaid Luncheon.  These two events were not open to the public.  All the other aspects of the event were!  I did have Sponsors such as United Mayflower ContainerGlass Dharma, and Cross Country Cafe who helped to offset the cost of my trip.
