I love discovering new local places to grab a tasty meal. While at work on Friday, everyone was discussing lunch plans and we settled on Dan’s Soup & San here in Missoula, Mt. I had never eaten at Dan’s Soup & San before, so I went with a few suggestions for my lunch choice.
I picked the Friday Special, which was a BBQ Pulled Pork Sub on Scallion Cheddar Bread, a bowl of soup and a drink. The Cheddar Broccoli Soup was a perfect choice to eat with my sub. I am so glad I went with the suggestions of my co-workers. My Cheddar & Broccoli soup was delicious and creamy with a good amount of broccoli hidden beneath the surface. The bread was soft and fluffy but hearty enough to hold up to the pulled bbq pork. All in all, it was a fantastic lunch.
Dan’s Soup & San was established in October, 2008. They are a locally owned Missoula business that strives to get to know each and every customer. Dan’s Soup & San is not your average sandwich shop. They bake their bread fresh daily. With bread choices like Sunflower Seed Cracked Wheat, Zesty Parmesan and Jalapeno Cheddar there is a great choice for everyone.
Their soups are so popular, that they have to make them on specific days and usually sell out of their most popular flavor – the Wisconsin Beer Cheese soup. Their soup of the day is listed on their website. I can’t wait to try that soup.
Would I eat here again?
The next time Hubs is in the mood for a soup and sandwich meal I know exactly where we will be going! I know he would love The Gauntlet sub.
Dan’s Soup & San has recently moved to a larger location:
2700 Paxson St. Suite M,
in the Paxson Plaza
