Summer is here, and coming to an end but there are still reasons to celebrate in our home. Our wedding anniversary is the 11th of August! This year though, we will be spending our anniversary in two different states. It could be sad, but instead we do our best to embrace it and find ways to make it fun, even if we are apart. This is also not a first for us, which probably helps. We are currently 3/6 on spending our anniversary together.
Hubs was thinking ahead. In fact, my gift from him has been sitting on our dining room table for almost 2 weeks unopened. It has been sooooooo tempting, but I have not peeked a little bit. I really want to though, Hubs keeps texting and asking if I have opened it yet. I think he might be more excited about my gift than I am.
This year I have a plan for Hubs. While he will not get to open his gift until he returns home at the end of the month, but that is alright! I will send him a photo of it all put together. My plan for this year is 2 parts:
1. Replace the ring Hubs shattered with a military vehicle door a few years back.
2. Let him know just how much he means to me with a few great greeting cards.
I purchased a new ring online, and then made sure it was delivered AFTER Hubs left for training. I did not want to ruin the surprise! Then I headed to Walmart to find the perfect cards.
I love the card selection, especially the Hallmark Value Cards! Did you know you could find cards for under $1? Plus with Hallmark Rewards, I get rewarded for every 5 cards I purchase. #Valueards plus rewards.. Win, Win! While I was shopping I picked up some tissue paper and a gift bag, since it is all in the same isle it is super convenient.
I picked up a bunch of cards, with them all being under $1 I could not resist! As I was heading out of the card department I noticed these! Hopefully Hubs sees this post eventually because my birthday is next month…. *Hint Hint*!
I only chose one actual anniversary card, the one with the coffee cups on it! #Perfect! The others are more friendship, thankful, and fun. While they may appear to be a bit random, they fit us perfectly. Hubs will laugh when he sees them all and he will read each one like it is the only one. That is just the kind of guy he is.
Working on Hubs’ gift this weekend has made it go quickly, and I am really looking forward to him being home at the end of the month. Hopefully his ring fits, and he likes it as much as I know he will like the cards.
