My favorite book of 2014

My favorite book of 2014

It can be hard to find a good book!  Somedays I can wonder the library or book store, and come home empty handed.  Then there are the days I find 10 books that I need to read right now.  Some turn out to be as good or even better than I had hoped, while others may fall a bit short of my expectations.

I do not consider myself a big reader, but I do enjoy reading.  I usually read about a book a month but this past year I read a lot more than my usual amount.  Mostly because Hubs was at the table doing homework and I did not want to distract him with sounds from the TV or music so I chose to read.

Here is what I read this year, you will find my favorite book of the year at the very end:

By now you may have noticed my love of romance novels!  I also enjoy getting into a series of books with characters that I can follow though-out the whole set.  When I read a book, I get invested in the people held within its pages.  If I can find a set that keeps the same people along the way I really enjoy it.

My favorite book of the year is The Girl at the End of the World by Elizabeth Esther.  Why?  Because it is a true story which made me laugh and made my heart break at the same time.

  1. Love this post! It’s so fun and interesting to see what other people are reading, and what they enjoyed. I think I’ll be picking up your favorite sometime this month and giving it a try myself :)

  2. This is a really great list. I need to do better in 2015. Last year I only read 2 books, but lots of magazines. I’m very impressed with your list.

  3. Wow you read a ton of books! I can’t say I really had a favorite. I had 5 books that I absolutely could not put done. One was a romance, the other 4 were Historical Fiction (2 taking place during WWII and 2 taking place during the Civil War).

  4. Renaissance of the Heart – was my Favorite Book of 2014! It is a feel good romance story :) My goal for 2015 is to read at least one book a week. I noticed you read Wild – I purchased Wild and it is on my Nook. I plan to read it next week.

  5. There is NO way I could choose just one! I love to read. My favorite genre is historical fiction(normally Christian fiction that is historical fiction with romance thrown in).

  6. Awesome books. Saw a few I have not read.

  7. I wish I would stop and read more. I am impressed with your list. Thank you for sharing!
