Husker Pie Recipe

Husker Pie Recipe

My Grandmother was a baker at heart.  Every family meal had a sweet treat or two to finish the evening.  From cakes and cookies, to pies and ice cream she made a little bit of everything.   One pie that I just loved was her Husker Pie, which is really an apple pie made with the little red cinnamon candy for flavor and the color.  Over the years I have made this pie several times, and it is never as good as my Grandmother's even though I am using her recipe. Thankfulness 2013: Day 26
